The Health Care Assistant Course (Certificate in Patient Attendant) is examined by TVET CDACC and gives you a license to work in any hospital within and outside the country as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
The programme trains individuals to work as nurse assistants, caregivers, patient attendants and healthcare support assistants, equipping students with competencies for assistance with daily living activities or medical care across hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and private homes.
Duration Options

- ✓ 1-year advanced patient attendant training — for students scoring D plain and above.

Industrial Attachment
2–3 months in a recognised hospital. We help our students get placement in our partner Level IV mission, private and sub-county hospitals.
Examinations & Certification
- ✓ Continuous internal assessments coordinated by BCTI
- ✓ TVET CDACC examinations — held 3 times a year (March, July, November), 4–8 papers per session
- ✓ Beta Care Training Institute certificate, plus a TVET certificate on passing CDACC exams
- ✓ Healthcare Support Assistant License available via the eCitizen platform
Fee Structure
- ✓ Registration: Kshs. 1,000
- ✓ Food & accommodation (boarders): Kshs 9,000 per month or 300 per day — bed & mattress, 3 meals daily, free WiFi, hot showers, good security.
- ✓ TVET exam costs: Kshs 1,000–2,000 per paper (7 papers for the 4-month course; 19 papers for the 1-year programme).
- ✓ Licensing: initial Kshs 10,000 registration with KHPOA, and an annual renewal fee of Kshs 5,000.

International Recognition
Our BCTI certificate is internationally recognised. Some of our students have used it to gain employment as healthcare assistants in neighbouring countries such as Uganda and Tanzania, and other countries including the Gulf Region.
