Key Responsibilities
-
Register, assess and triage patients in the community and at facility level; capture history, vital signs, health promotion needs.

Provide nursing care and counselling as need be.

Conduct outreach, mapping and community mobilization
-
Mentor and support community health promoters or community health workers in screening, early risk identification, reminders, defaulter tracing.
-
Support immunization programmes, cold chain systems, vaccine logistics, and disease surveillance/outbreak response as required.
-
Provide health education to individuals, families and communities (nutrition, drug compliance, hygiene, family planning)
-
Collaborate with other healthcare providers (clinical officers, lab staff, community health workers) in referrals, documentation and audit meetings
-
Ensure accurate documentation, reporting (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) to facility, county health information systems.

Adhere to infection prevention & control (IPC), patient confidentiality, plus national and county health policies & guidelines.
-
Maintain professional competence through ongoing training and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) from a recognised institution
- Registration certificate and valid practicing licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Fluency in Kikuyu or familiarity with the target community is added advantage).
- Computer literacy

Key Responsibilities
-
Receive, label and register specimens and samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure correct identification and handling.

Perform laboratory tests as per protocols and guidelines.
-
Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
-
Document and record test results, maintain logs, update laboratory information systems and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
-
Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks on reagents, equipment and procedures, and participate in external proficiency testing where applicable.
-
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, infection prevention and control, biosafety and waste disposal standards.
-
Manage inventory of reagents, consumables and supplies; monitor stock levels and initiate requisitions where needed.
-
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assist with sample collection, interpretation of results and providing technical support.
-
Participate in continuous professional development and training to keep up to date with advances in laboratory science, equipment and procedures.
-
Contribute to maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness and functionality of the laboratory work area.
-
Perform any other task as may be assigned by the Laboratory Manager or senior staff.
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences with at least 2 years experience
- Registration or certification with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB)
- Strong knowledge of laboratory protocols, specimen handling, instrumentation, calibration and maintenance.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting test results.
- Good communication skills (Knowledge of the Kikuyu language due to the community is an advantage)
- Computer literacy

- Clinical Officer Clerking, examination, diagnosing and treatment of patients at the outpatient
- Do consultations as need be and to prescribe drugs according to the guidelines of MOH
- Clerking of patients.
- Responding to inquiries relating to patients and lab requests using rapid kits
- Give health talks,
- Conducting health education as may be required by MOH.
- Participate in medical checkup and medical camp as may be required.
- Able to work as a team member with staff and ensure quality service provision.
- Provide regular feedback to the team leader on treatment, trends, challenges, and ideas for improvement in service delivery.
- Participate in staff training.
- Refer or call the designated doctor in case of problems which cannot be solved at his/her level.
- Carry out any other duties as deemed necessary
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery with 2 years’ experience
- Must be computer literate
- Must be registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council
- Must hold a current valid license to practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Kikuyu language due to the community.
